Transformational Crest as the Academy is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted
We are delighted to share the results of the Ofsted Inspection which took place at The Crest Academy in October 2016. The Academy has been rated ‘Good’ across all criteria, with inspectors praising students’ progress, teaching standards aviour and safety of our students and the leadership and management of the school.
Inspectors highlighted the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, identifying that “these aspects continue to grow in strength across the school, particularly in English, mathematics, religious education, physical education and business education.”
In addition, the inspectors commented that “teachers use their good subject knowledge to develop skilfully pupils’ vocabulary in each subject. This is particularly successful in developing the language and writing skills of pupils who speak English as an additional language.”
The report recognises the huge improvements to student behaviour around the school, affirming that Crest has been “transformed into a calm and purposeful centre for learning” and that students are “respectful to adults and work well together.” The inspectors go on to praise the vigilance of staff and their dedication to supporting attendance and ensuring safeguarding arrangements are effective.
The Crest Academy Principal Mohsen Ojja commented: “To go from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ across the board in less than two years is an amazing feat. Our next ambition is to be ‘Outstanding’ and we are clear on the key areas, as identified by Ofsted, we can fast-track in order to accelerate our success. We are confident that the strong and tenacious leadership of the Academy will enable us to continue to make significant improvements, placing The Crest Academy at the centre of the local community.”
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all parents to visit The Crest Academy and arrange a tour or meeting with the Principal. We look forward to an exciting and promising future at Crest, with our best ever exam results, state-of-the-art facilities and extensive opportunities for students.
