Mohsen Ojja - Principal
Mohsen Ojja 2Mohsen joined the Academy as Principal in January 2015. With a background in International Law and Education, he brings with him a wealth of experience as a successful school leader. A graduate of the prestigious Future Leaders programme, Mohsen has previously held leadership posts in a number of schools in South London, most recently as Associate Principal at Ark Globe Academy in Southwark. Fluent in French, Arabic and English, he is committed to transforming Educational outcomes at Crest and is a firm believer in Social Justice.
Christalina Fernandes - Vice Principal (Behaviour and Inclusion)
Christalina Fernandes Cristalina joined the Academy in June 2016, having previously worked as a senior leader at Ark Globe Academy in Southwark, where she was also Vice Principal. Cristalina is passionate about Social Justice and ensuring that our young people at Crest receive the very best opportunities to allow them to flourish as successful, articulate and polite members of the community. Cristalina is also a member of our teaching team and is delivering English this academic year to our new Year 7 cohort.
Benita Simmons - Associate Principal Learning and Teaching, CPD, Operations and Staffing
Benita SimmonsBenita joined the Academy in April 2014, as Assistant Vice Principal working on raising standards in Learning and Teaching across the Academy and leading on CPD to develop teachers in the classroom. Benita is passionate about ensuring that Crest takes its rightful place as a school of excellence in North London. Benita brings with her a strong track record of impact as a leader, joining us from Greig City Academy in Haringey. Benita is also a member of the teaching team and specialises in Business Studies.
Rumi Khatun - Associate Vice Principal (Curriculum & Achievement)
Rumi KhatunRumi joined the Academy in April 2015, as Assistant Vice Principal leading on Curriculum before taking up her role as Associate Vice Principal leading on Curriculum and Achievement, Rumi is passionate about ensuring that students at Crest have the right curriculum offer, to allow them to compete for the very best Universities and careers in the future. Rumi is responsible for ensuring that our achievement and assessment systems are accurate and reporting regularly to our parents and carers regarding our learners’ progress. A graduate from the NPQSL programme (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders), Rumi joins the Academy with a wealth of experience as a leader in both East and South London
Errol Comrie - Assistant Vice Principal (KS4)
Errol ComrieErrol joined the Academy in April 2015, as Assistant Vice Principal Director of KS4. Errol has a strong track record in Pastoral Support and in raising achievement, joining us from Wanstead High School in Redbridge. Errol also leads on Student Leadership at the Academy and has been active in developing the student council, to ensure that students get their say in shaping our Academy.
Sophie Grant - Assistant Vice Principal (Director of KS3)
Sophie GrantSophie joined the Academy in 2009, originally as Curriculum Director for English at Crest. Passionate about both her subject and learning and teaching, Sophie has quickly moved into a substantive leadership role. An alumni of the Future Leaders Flagship programme, Sophie is committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students at Crest. Sophie is responsible for the Pastoral Care at Key Stage 3, including the induction and integration of our Year 7 students into life at the Academy. Sophie also has day to day responsibility for leadership of Year 9.
Paul Morgan - Assistant Vice Principal (KS5 Progress and Achievement)
Paul MorganPaul joined Crest in September 2015, as a Lead Practitioner within the Humanities and Languages faculty and taking whole school responsibility for Beginner Teachers. Paul now leads on the progress and achievement of KS5 students in the Academy’s sixth form, ensuring that they are reaching their potential and on track to achieve their target grades. Paul is currently a participant on the NPQSL with the Institute of Education. Paul is committed to addressing educational disadvantage in urban school settings and has a wealth of inner London teaching experience, most recently at Saint Mark’s Church of England Academy in Merton. Paul is also a member of the Academy’s teaching team, delivering Sociology and RE to GCSE and A Level.
Danielle Finlay - Curriculum Director English
Danielle FinlayDanielle joined the Academy in September 2016, as Interim Curriculum Director for English. Passionate about both her subject and learning and teaching, Danielle is excited to lead the English team at Crest to bring the subject to life. A graduate from the prestigious Teach First programme, Danielle has recently had a leadership role at Balaam Wood Academy in the West Midlands
Ms Sabah Ghani - Curriculum Director Maths
Sabah GhaniSabah joined the Academy in April 2015 originally as Deputy Curriculum Director for Maths. Sabah is a graduate of the Teaching Leaders Middle Leadership Development programme and has played a key role in developing the Maths provision at the Academy. Since May 2016, Sabah has taken on the role of Curriculum Director for Maths at Crest. Sabah has a wealth of experience teaching in Inner London schools, most recently at Oasis Academy Hadley in Enfield.
Paolina Webber - Curriculum Director Humanities & Languages
Paolina WebberPaolina has previously been a member of staff at the Academy’s predecessor school John Kelly Girls’ School and has held a wide range of role across the Academy. Paolina presently leads the Academy’s Humanities & Languages faculty and is also a member of the Academy teaching team, delivering French to GCSE and A Level. Paolina is committed to the Academy’s mission of ‘every student ready for university, every student a leader’ and this is evident through her unswerving service to Crest and it’s local community.
Vanessa McCrossan - Assistant Vice Principal (Director of KS5)
Vanessa McCrossen1Vanessa joined Crest in 2009 originally as Head of PE before leading the Performance Faculty at Crest. Passionate about her social justice and empowerment, Vanessa leads our Sixth Form provision at Crest, taking day to day responsibility for the welfare and safety of our Sixth Form students. Vanessa works closely with the Assistant Vice Principal: KS5 Progress, to ensure that all sixth form students leave our Academy ‘ready for university’.
Eartha Pond - Assistant Vice Principal - Curriculum Director Performance/Enrichment
Eartha Pond1Eartha joined the Academy in April 2016 as Senior Leader with responsibility for the Performance Faculty at Crest. A skilled sportswoman, Eartha is passionate about her subject and is determined to develop the Performance area across the Academy into a beacon of best practice within the North London area. Eartha is also a top class footballer, playing for Tottenham Hotspur Premiership Ladies Team. Eartha joins the Academy with significant leadership experience, most recently as a Senior Leader at The Rosedale Hewens Academy trust in Hayes
Coral Blackburn - Curriculum Director Creative Arts, Design & Enterprise

Coral presently leads the Academy’s Creative Arts, Design and Enterprise faculty and is also a member of the Academy teaching team, delivering Art to GCSE and A Level. Coral is committed to the Academy’s mission of ‘every student ready for university, every student a leader’ and this is evident through her unswerving service to Crest and its local community. Coral is a passionate artist and a trip to her classroom is a must for any visitor to the Academy, where her passion is clear in the outstanding work produced by students in her classroom.
